โดย ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้หารือในประเด็นภาพรวมการทูตเศรษฐกิจ ประเทศเป้าหมายที่มีศักยภาพ และ แนวทางการดำเนินงานของคณะทำงานกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ และ กกร. ในปี 2569 นอกจากนี้ ได้หารือในประเด็น Thailand-Africa Initiative (TAI) ซึ่งผลักดันความร่วมมือในภูมิภาคแอฟริกา รวมถึงโอกาสทางธุรกิจที่สำคัญในแต่ละประเทศ/ภูมิภาค อุปสรรคในการขยายตลาดของไทย และสถานะของการเจรจาความตกลงเขตการค้าเสรีกับประเทศต่างๆ เพื่อเสริมสร้างขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขันของไทยและขยายโอกาสให้ภาคเอกชนไทยในตลาดโลก

On 27 April 2026, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs convened the First Meeting of 2026 of the Joint Working Group between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Joint Standing Committee on Commerce, Industry and Banking (JSCCIB). The meeting aimed to deliberate on economic diplomacy and key target economic regions. Dr. Poj Aramwattananont, Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Trade of Thailand, served as Chair representing the private sector, while Ms. Rujikorn Sangchan, Director-General of the Department of International Economic Affairs, served as Chair representing the public sector.

Both sides exchanged views on the overall landscape of economic diplomacy, potential target countries with strong prospects, and the operational direction of the joint working group between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the JSCCIB for 2026. In addition, discussions covered the Thailand–Africa Initiative (TAI), as well as key business opportunities in main countries and regions. The meeting also addressed challenges faced by Thailand in expanding its markets, and the current status of negotiations on free trade agreements with partner countries, with a view to enhancing Thailand’s competitiveness and expanding opportunities for the Thai private sector in the global market.
